Dr. Thelma Estrin

First to be given the award was
Dr. Thelma Estrin, a professor in the Computer Science Department at the
University of California, Los Angeles. Her career has spanned research in
biomedical engineering and computer science. Dr. Estrin has been recognized as
a Fellow of IEEE, AAAS, American Institute of Medical and Biological
Engineering and the Society of Women Engineers for her computer contributions
to brain research and health care technology.
